In mid May I had the absolute pleasure of working with a fantastic team. We put together a whole lot of beauty on a spring evening. The Oakley is a stunning new venue located in Holly, MI. To start Alicia and her family converted an old working horse barn into what is now a one of a kind wedding space. The custom sconces and matching chandeliers bring a timeless elegance while still providing the ability to customize each event. To make this shoot absolutely perfect I knew the best rental company would be Special Occasions East. Their team is such a dream to work with and very tentative to each detail. They brought in the gorgeous farm tables, chairs, linens and plate ware. One of the tables was also the dessert table which included a delicious cake from Lisa, the owner of Cupcakes from the Hart. Let me tell you, not only are her cakes so very cute, they are extremely good! I could eat all of the desserts she makes daily! The cake also went flawlessly with the golden sequin table cloth from Special Occasions East. To finish off the table decor Aspen and Oaks florals put together the center pieces along with the bouquets, boutonniere, ceremony arch and floral install on the classic car.
Which leads to the next transition of The Oakley, their outdoor space. Peaceful is an understatement to describe the feel of their estate! There is an abundance of land, a gorgeous greenhouse and endless possibilities for a creative bride ;) After walking out the doors you are greeted by a cozy patio and a walkway to the ceremony arch. My job was effortless with Kate and Mitch as my models and as the perfect REAL couple for this job! Kate looked absolutely stunning in each of the three gowns from the Ivory Loft, a new and FANTASTIC bridal salon in Fenton, MI. The Ivory Loft also provided the veil and belt to one of the dresses. In addition to the gorgeous gowns Cassandra killed the makeup and Heather did as well with Kate's hair. You'll see exactly what I am talking about in the photos!!
To top off this flawless night I was able to add in a fun and personal touch. My father has an indescribable talent for restoring cars. So he brought along his pride and job, his 1967 convertible Camaro. He so graciously trusted us to put a floral install on the back of his car to make for swoon worthy golden hour photos. Another massive thank you to you Dad and my brother for bringing the car out!
Now for my final bragging moment and big THANK YOU. To Mr. & Mrs. Reis!! The newlywed couple that agreed to model for this shoot! It isn't very often I have the ability and opportunity to put something like this together but when I do I always search for real couples because true love cannot be faked or modeled. Kate & Mitch have such an authentic love that I could not think of a better duo to photograph. Thank you, thank you and your love radiates through each and every photos!
This has been a dream and I am so excited to FINALLY share just a few of the photos!
